School Visits

How long will my program be?

The average program is 40 to 60 minutes. Of course, a custom program can be planned if you are working with a specific curriculum topic.

The Standard Program:
Introduction
During my slide presentation (15-20 min.)
Things included: How I was introduced to the field, my inspiration, how I develop my ideas,

my studio, the phases of a children’s book (the process).
A 10-15 minute question & answer session
A short drawing demo or (video clip demo), depending on group size.
The program length may vary depending on the grade level.

Equipment Specifications:
• Whiteboard & projector w/available pc for jump drive access for my Powerpoint
• Flip Chart Paper on an easel
• Non-toxic markers


Things to think about:
Please allow time to tour the school to view student art projects
Also, keep in mind time for photos if students are working on school newspaper projects
Airport Preferences:
RDU Airport, Raleigh/Durham Area, please Allow 1 hour for travel to the airport
(Car with driver must be provided for transportation to and from the airport. Allow 1 hour for travel to the airport)

Please Note Flight preferences:

Window seat, non-smoking. Early morning flight preferred (any time after 6:00 AM) or a flight the evening before. Prefer Delta, American, Southeast, NO redeyes, please.

Artists that have influenced my work, a survey of the visual arts field,

my process, my approach to the field, how I develop my ideas, my studio, the phases of a children’s book

(the process).
A 10-15 minute question & answer session
Portfolio review of student work (a few depending on time)

Critique session of a current class project
